Despite being for "seasoned backpackers only" the hostel was voted the friendliest hostel in Australia by its guests and also received an award from the Cairns Tourism Association for outstanding customer service.

However, the emphasis is firmly on fun, so guests should be prepared for some wild times. The Mad Monday Party or Friday evening all you can eat BBQ and Pizza nights are the main draw. The hostel offers free hot evening meals every day except on Fridays.
